About the Story
In 1996, or even further past that, as America’s moral backbone cracked under the weight of technology and cultural upheaval, a silent threat grew in the shadows. The Aouryx cult, worshipers of the enigmatic god Aou, promised not salvation, but clarity—a brutal order to replace what they saw as society’s rotting compassion. Federal agent Quinn Postalislov was assigned to infiltrate their growing web of influence and expose the faceless leader orchestrating it all, a figure spoken of only in cryptic transmissions and half-remembered dreams. During his investigation, Quinn stumbles across a young girl, disoriented and afraid, her past severed by the cult’s rituals. Against his better judgment—and his orders—he shelters her, drawing the full weight of Aouryx’s attention to himself.
The cult moves swiftly. Operatives, masked as civilians, begin stalking Quinn, whispering their doctrine through coded threats and broken prayers. Every encounter leaves him more isolated, more unsure of who he can trust. The girl’s fragmented memories hint at something larger—something Quinn was never meant to uncover. As the lines between his mission and obsession blur, he begins to see visions, hear the static-voiced sermons that Aouryx broadcasts deep through hijacked signals. They speak not just of control, but of release. Of peace through surrender.
When Quinn finally unearths the leader’s identity, it isn't just a face he recognizes—it’s a history he thought he buried. A revelation that forces him to question whether he’s been fighting for the right side at all... or if the corruption he sought to expose had already infected him long before he ever heard the name Aou.
